(Categorization according to the Chamber of Commerce of Austria)

1 star

Basic furnishing of rooms and apartments. Shower or bathroom/toilet in the room or shared shower/bathroom/toiltes. Guests are very satisfied with the favorable prices.

2 stars

Basic and comfortable furnishing. Differences between 1 and 2 stars: The rooms of a guesthouse with 2 stars are more comfortable and equipped with TV, and bathrooms. Differences between 2 and 3 stars: The tidiness and the functionality of the furnishing make up the quality, the materials for the furnishing used in a guesthouse with 2 stars are not as qualitative as in a 3 star guesthouse. Guests are satisfied with the favorable price and the offer.  

3 stars

Hotels, guesthouses, bed and breakfast, or private rooms charcaterized by cosy and comfortalbe furnishing (shower/bath, food, beverages), offer of services (reception, beverages, snacks). Differences between 2 and 3 stars: solid furnishing, rooms equipped with desks/lounge and recreation rooms. Differences between 3 and 4 stars: smaller rooms, modern furnishing is not a must. Guests are satisfied with the middle-class offers and the ideal price.

4 stars

First-class furnishing, spacious rooms equipped with modern furnishing, noise protection. A wide range of recreation programs (e.g. wellness, sport, restaurant, seminar equipment etc.). Differences between 3 and 4 stars: rooms are more spacious, high quality furnishing. First-class service quality.

Flowers (marguerites) = classification of agroturism 

The quality of agriturism is indicated with 2 to 4 flowers. The flowers do not only indicate the farm's quality of the furnishing and location but also its offered services and the holiday experience/adventure. 

2 flowers

Cosy rooms and apartments with basic furnishing. Shower or bath/toilet in the room or shared shower/bath/toilet.

3 flowers

Very good quality in the overall standard of furnishing (apartments, rooms, farm). Shower or bath/toilet usually in the room. Farms characterized by a very good comfort.

4 flowers

First-class agriturism with comfortable and cosy rooms or apartments. Shower or bath/toilet in the rooms. Agriturism of high quality.

Suns = private rooms, holiday apartments and holiday cottages

The suns indicate the location, the furnishing, "adventure offers" for the guests, sport- and leisure facilities in the immediate vicinity....

2 suns

Cosy rooms and apartments with bacis furnishing. Shower or bath/toilet in the room or shared shower/bath/toilet .

3 suns

Comfortable furnishing and good service quality. Shower or bath/toilet usually in the rooms.  

4 suns

First-class furnishing and high level of service quality. Shower or bath/toilet in the rooms. 4 suns guarantee high quality.

Bears for children

In Carinthia, bears guarantee adequate quality standards for children.

3 bears

• safe children's play area
• spacious rooms/ apartments, children bed's, child-proof devices and electrical sockets, and children's toilet seat
• non-smoking area, highchairs, children's plates, painting sets, games, etc., children's menu and drinks. 
• own playroom
• organised babysitting service on request (extra charge), organised family programme at least once a week, special children's programme in hotel or locality at least 3 times a week.
  

4 bears

• completely separated play area with direct access from the hotel/house
• baby package with baby bath, thermometer, nappy bin, bottle-warmer, potty, changing mat and babyphone
• own dining room or playhouse 
• baby or child care service 5 days a week, organised babysitting service (extra charge)

5 bears

• 4-star hotel with indoor swimming pool and/or heated open air pool or lake bathing area directly by the hotel. Safe location - fenced-off hotel area.
• play-set in the room, child-sized wardrobe and towel holder, babycare package (cream, wet wipes, powder etc.), computerised baby monitoring system 
• non-smokers' restaurant, children's full board includes the childrens' drinks throughout the day, while in the care of the staff.
