Spittl

Spittl an der Lieser is the building from which Spittal an der Drau gets its name. First documented mention in 1191. The Renaissance building with a classic facade was built simultaneously to Porcia Arkadenhof Castle under Gabriel von Salamanca.

In the style of a Renaissance palace with arcade court, this former hospice is one of the most remarkable buildings in the town. Today the Spittl accommodates the Carinthian Technical College.
