Carantana Museum
The name, "Carantana", comes from a document by Karl the Great, in which the "provincia Carantana" is mentioned, which included the area of Carinthia. The finds on display from this epoch represent an important step forward in the research of the Early Middle Ages.
The excavations and the sensational finds in Molzbichl lead to the establishment of the Carantana Early Middle Age Museum. The museum is situated within the excavation area, directly south of St. Tiburtius parish church in Molzbichl near Spittal/Drau.
