Museum Teurnia
St. Peter in Holz has been inhabited since the 12th century B.C. The older Celtic settlement of Teurnia was incorporated into the large-scale town planning by the Romans in around 50 A.D.
In the 5th and 6th centuries Teurnia was the fortified capital of the Noricum province and seat of the bishop, as is evidenced by the mighty ruins of the bishops church and the cemetery church.
The mosaic floor of the cemetery church is on of the most famous in Europe. The Roman museum is a new attraction in Teurnia.
