Spittal an der Drau
The „small historic town“ of Spittal is annually the stage for Porcia comedy theatre in Porcia Castle, one of the most beautiful Renaissance-Palazzo outside Italy.Cultural life and southern ambience combine here in a wonderful symbiosis. The museum of culture and the Porcia Gallery present their unique exhibits in the castle.
If you are interested in the Middle Ages, the „Carantana“ museum in Molzbichl is worth a visit. Spittal is full of life and southern flair, which you can enjoy through the culture, shopping in the town park, in the excellent restaurants and pub scene.
The technical college „Technikum Kärnten“ today occupies the name-giving building of „Spittl“.
